Monster Alley

In the middle of a major metropolitan city lies a hidden enclave of supernaturals called Happenstance.   Two detectives, Rafe Howler and Sophie Frost, keep the peace in this unique setting.

An angel interrogates a thief who just had his third strike.  But the angel has other plans for the thief.

This is a religious story where a thief waits impatiently in a police interrogation room when a man named Michael comes in.  This is the thief’s third strike so he is supposed to go away for the rest of his life, but Michael might have other plans.

Strange Doors

Kimi Nakamura and Chevalier investigate haunted spaces, including homes and otherwise. 

Kimi’s take is more as the Professor of Psychology that she is, and hopes to resolve what is troubling the spirit.  Chevalier is from an ancient family that deals with ghostly threats with the help of a blade called the Sevario, or Sever, which can destroy the ghost utterly.  But that means destroying the soul, so his blade is a weapon of last resort.

In “Goodrum’s Flight”, colonists have gone down to a planet without protective gear and, unsurprisingly, things went bad.  Actually, I was so annoyed with the colonists in “Alien: Covenant”, that I wrote this story.

Whiskey Galore

A young boy named Billy brings his boss into the clinic for a bite wound.  But there are others who have been bitten too.  The boy wants to be a doctor himself, so Dr. Kilbeare puts him to work as her assistant.  It is soon revealed that Billy’s boss has been taken over by some parasite.  Dr. Kilbeare and Billy try to stop the parasites, but are barely able to save themselves.

Burning Sands 

Dr. Benedict Carter, a former military man himself, follows a team of soldiers, led by the Sarge, to a small town in Afghanistan.  They are there to look for a missing squad of US soldiers, but soon find themselves trapped between two different creatures who are fighting each other.  Throughout this, Benedict is helped by a mysterious woman named Shiva who may be more than human.

Ronin Rodriguez leads an Army search and rescue team, including a vet named Dr. Savage, to investigate an asteroid that has struck earth. This asteroid has not only caused a dense fog,  but is infecting the people near the crash site.  Citizens infected by the asteroid grow large until they shed their human skin and reveal human-like insectoid bodies inside.

A mysterious stranger, who calls himself the Saracen, travels with his metal pool cue.  The Saracen is running from his former life as a doctor after his wife and kids were killed in a car accident when he was driving.  But it was not his fault.  

Now he gets into weird situations as he travels across the countryside.

A semi-realistic take on a detective who is infected by vampirism.  As Hanzo McCoy leans more about the changes in his own body, he finds that there are more than just vampires in his town.   But, he aided by his human partner, Dancer, who thinks it’s pretty cool to have a vampire partner.  What Hanzo does not realize, is that he is not a normal vampire himself, but rather one with enormous power.
